Located almost 900 meters above sea level, in the foothills of the Sierra de Huétor and on the edge of the Aguas Blancas River, the structure of Quéntar presents the typical narrow and steep streets of the Andalusian-founded mountain villages.
The municipality offers visitors routes through the so-called Tajo del Castillejo, a huge natural cut formed by the stream before reaching the urban center. Another attraction that constitutes it is the Pantano de Quéntar, one of the most spectacular hydraulic works in the province.
Quentar is also known for its traditional festivals and representations of the battles between Moors and Christians, emulated by the neighbors themselves in the most prominent locations in the town.
